COKA Wins Ashanti Regional NPP Chairmanship Race

Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as COKA, has been elected as the new Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
COKA emerged victorious in the party’s Ashanti Regional executive elections held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, defeating his main contender, former Bantama Member of Parliament, Dr. Henry Kwabena Kokofu.
His victory marks a return to the Ashanti Regional chairmanship position, where he is expected to play a key role in strengthening the party’s structures and mobilising support ahead of the 2028 general elections.
During his campaign, COKA emphasised unity, grassroots mobilisation and the need to rebuild the party’s organisational strength across the region.
The Ashanti Region remains a crucial stronghold for the NPP, making the regional chairmanship a significant position as the party prepares for the next general elections.
In his post-election remarks, COKA called on party members and supporters to put differences aside and unite behind the party’s broader objectives.
He stressed the importance of strengthening the NPP at the grassroots level while working to restore confidence and deepen collaboration among members.
COKA’s election is expected to usher in a renewed focus on party unity, grassroots engagement and organisational rebuilding in the Ashanti Region as the NPP looks ahead to 2028.
