KFC Ghana Branches Overwhelmed by Massive Crowds Over GH¢15 Anniversary Chicken Deal

Branches of KFC Ghana have been overwhelmed by large crowds after the fast-food chain rolled out a special GH¢15 chicken offer as part of its anniversary celebrations.
The promotion, which coincided with KFC Ghana’s anniversary on Saturday, August 15, 2026, attracted scores of customers across several branches, with some outlets recording unusually long queues.
Videos and photos circulating on social media showed customers gathered in large numbers as they sought to take advantage of the heavily discounted offer. Some scenes reportedly became chaotic, with customers struggling to access the available meals.
The unprecedented turnout highlights the strong consumer interest generated by the promotional price, particularly at a time when food prices remain a major concern for many households.
KFC Ghana began operations in the country on August 15, 2011, with its first restaurant opened at Osu in Accra. The brand has since expanded significantly and now operates dozens of restaurants across multiple regions.
The anniversary promotion has generated significant conversation online, with social media users sharing videos of the crowds and debating the extent to which customers went to secure the discounted chicken.
While some praised the company for offering customers an affordable deal, others expressed concern about the disorder reportedly witnessed at some outlets.

The heavy turnout has made KFC Ghana’s anniversary promotion one of the major talking points on social media, with the GH¢15 offer drawing attention well beyond the restaurant’s usual customer base.
