Government Must Explain Financial Basis for GH¢2 Diesel Price Cut – Lawratu Mussah-Saaka
A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communications Team, Lawratu Mussah-Saaka, has called on the government to provide a clear explanation of the financial framework behind the recently announced GH¢2 reduction in diesel prices.
Speaking on the issue, Mussah-Saaka questioned the sustainability of the price cut and urged the government to disclose the economic and financial mechanisms supporting the decision.
She argued that Ghanaians deserve to understand how the reduction is being funded and whether it can be maintained over time.
According to her, transparency is essential to ensure public confidence in government policies, particularly those affecting fuel prices and the broader economy. She maintained that without a clear financial framework, the reduction could raise concerns about its long-term viability and potential impact on the country’s finances.
