The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has elected new Regional Chairmen across the country following keenly contested regional elections held on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
The elections, which attracted significant competition among candidates, saw party members vote to select executives who will lead the party at the regional level.
Among the various positions contested, the Regional Chairman role remains one of the most influential, given its responsibility for coordinating party activities and strengthening the NPP’s organisational structures across the regions.
Based on the provisional results declared by Electoral Commission officials who supervised the elections, the following candidates have emerged as Regional Chairmen-elect:
- Western Region: Ignatius Kwasi Africa
- Savannah Region: Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana
- Bono Region: Kwame Baffoe Abronye
- Greater Accra Region: Bernard Okoe-Boye
- Ashanti Region: Odeneho Kwaku Appiah
- Eastern Region: Jeff Konadu Addo
- Central Region: Joseph Kobinah Esibu
- Ahafo Region: Robert Sarfo Mensah
- Northern Region: Mohammed Baatima Adam (Samba)
- North East Region: Alhaji Mohammed Fuseini
- Upper East Region: Elvis Awonekai Figo
- Upper West Region: Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahman
- Volta Region: Makafui Kofi Woanya
- Oti Region: Dr. Frank Yirenkyi
- Bono East Region: Ibrahim Bukari Baba
The Western North Region was not included in the August 15 results, as its regional election was scheduled to be conducted on Sunday, August 16, 2026.
The newly elected chairmen are expected to play a central role in mobilising the party’s grassroots, coordinating regional structures and advancing the NPP’s organisational agenda ahead of future political activities.
The results remain provisional pending any official confirmation and resolution of issues that may arise from the electoral process.
