Mr Courage Babanawo, a youth activist, has declared his intention to contest for the position of Deputy Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ketu South Constituency of the Volta Region.
In a statement shared with shinemegh.com, Babanawo said his decision to run in the upcoming intra-party elections is driven by a commitment to energise the NDC’s grassroots — particularly the youth, whom he described as the party’s “nerve centre” in its stronghold.
“I firmly believe the youth are the backbone and driving force of the NDC. I’m ready to work tirelessly to strengthen our structures, promote unity, and sustain our electoral successes in Ketu South and beyond,” he stated.
Babanawo explained that his passion to serve is rooted in a deep commitment to the party’s ideals and core values. He added that his years of service in various capacities have prepared him to effectively lead the youth of Ketu South.
He pledged to collaborate closely with party leaders, executives, and stakeholders to revitalise the NDC, enhance youth participation, and improve the party’s prospects in the constituency.
Babanawo’s past roles include:
- Deputy TEIN Organiser and later TEIN President at Tamale NMTC
- Communications Officer for Wuduoba LA Primary Branch
- Member of the Ketu South Constituency Communications Committee
- Contributor to the Ketu South NDC Special Operations Committee (Youth Wing)
- Member of the Volta Regional NDC Communications Team
“These experiences have shaped my understanding of grassroots mobilisation and discipline,” he remarked. “If given the mandate, I will serve with loyalty, humility, and dedication.”
He concluded by appealing to delegates and party members to support his bid to strengthen the youth wing and advance the NDC’s agenda in Ketu South:
“I sincerely seek the support and confidence of all delegates, executives, and comrades so that together, we can build a stronger, united, and victorious NDC.”
