Central Tongu NPP Chairmanship Aspirant Unveils Vision for Party Renewal, Inclusive Leadership

Mr. Fiagbenu Guggisberg, an aspiring Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Central Tongu, has pledged to champion a transformative agenda anchored on unity, organisational discipline, grassroots empowerment and strategic leadership to reposition the party for electoral success.

He said the NPP in Central Tongu possessed enormous political potential, which could only be realised through strong leadership, reconciliation among members and a renewed commitment to the party’s core values of service, loyalty and accountability.

Mr. Guggisberg, who is number three on the ballot in the forthcoming constituency executive elections, made the pledge after successfully filing his nomination and completing the party’s vetting process.

Addressing delegates, constituency executives, electoral area coordinators, members of the Council of Elders, Council of Patrons, polling station executives and regional and national party officials, he described the election as an opportunity to reset the party’s fortunes and restore the confidence of its rank and file.

He paid glowing tribute to the constituency leadership headed by Mr Ruben Dorku Amara, Mr. Thomas Moore Zonyra, Mr. Dunyo and other pioneers of the party for laying a solid foundation and making significant sacrifices towards sustaining the NPP in Central Tongu.

Mr. Guggisberg also extended goodwill to his fellow chairmanship contenders, as well as all aspirants seeking various executive positions, saying the internal elections should deepen the party’s democratic culture and strengthen its collective resolve rather than create divisions.

He said the time had come for the party to rise above internal differences and embrace reconciliation, mutual respect and collective responsibility, stressing that sustainable political success could only be achieved through a united front.

“Our greatest strength lies not in our numbers alone but in our ability to stand together with one purpose. Unity must remain the cornerstone upon which we rebuild a stronger and more formidable New Patriotic Party in Central Tongu,” he stated.

The aspiring chairman pledged to strengthen the party’s structures from the polling station to the constituency level through effective coordination, continuous engagement with members and the empowerment of electoral area coordinators and grassroots executives.

He said his administration would prioritise transparent and accountable leadership, regular consultations with party members, capacity-building for executives, and the establishment of effective communication channels to ensure that every member remained informed, valued and actively involved in the affairs of the party.

Mr. Guggisberg further pledged to institute a culture of recognition for committed party faithful, promote youth and women’s participation in party activities and support initiatives that would enhance membership mobilisation, political education and electoral preparedness.

He noted that rebuilding the confidence of members required leadership that was accessible, selfless and committed to service, adding that the party must become a home where every member, irrespective of previous political alignment, would have an equal opportunity to contribute to its growth.
