The NPP’s Director of Communications, Richard Ahiagbah, has revealed that former President Nana Akufo-Addo has instructed his ex-appointees to remain available for any accountability processes. Speaking on Joy News’ PM Express on February 18, Ahiagbah emphasized the NPP’s dedication to transparency.
“We have no record of running away; we’ll be here,” he stated. His remarks follow growing public demands for accountability as Ghana transitions into a new administration.
Former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta has been declared a fugitive by prosecutors and placed on the country’s wanted list.
His lawyers argue that he informed the Chief of Staff about his medical condition and plans to seek treatment abroad, assuring availability when needed.
Responding to the issue, an NPP official stated, “We’ll address matters here. It was NDC members who fled. Our party has no history of officials evading accountability.”
The debate over political accountability continues.
