Prices of Okro, fish, garden eggs, others ‘reduced’ – Ato Forson says

Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson says Ghana’s return to single-digit inflation is a result of deliberate economic policies and not mere chance.

Presenting the 2026 Mid-Year Budget Review, Dr. Forson declared, “Ghana is back to single-digit inflation not by sheer luck.”

He attributed the achievement to disciplined fiscal policies implemented by the government to restore macroeconomic stability.

According to the Finance Minister, the gains are beginning to reflect in the prices of essential commodities, with food items such as okro, fish, and garden eggs recording noticeable price reductions in recent months.

He said the easing inflation rate demonstrates that the government’s fiscal measures are beginning to deliver tangible results, offering some relief to households that have endured rising living costs over the past few years.
