NDC support among Akans rises to 41% as NPP falls to 29% – Global InfoAnalytics

Early results from the ongoing March 2026 poll by Global InfoAnalytics indicate a widening divide between Ghana’s two major political parties, with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) consolidating support as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) loses ground.
Mussa Dankwah, Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, said in a Facebook post on Saturday, 21 March, that the NDC’s share among the Akan community—the country’s largest ethnic group—has risen sharply from 34% in December 2025 to 41% in the current survey. Meanwhile, the NPP’s support has edged down slightly, from 30% to 29% over the same period.
According to Dankwah, the NDC’s gains are largely driven by voters who previously identified as undecided or chose not to disclose their political affiliations. Many of these individuals are now openly declaring support for the NDC, signalling a notable shift in the political landscape.
“The trend suggests that the NDC is successfully converting undecided and previously non-committal voters into active supporters, strengthening its base ahead of upcoming elections,” Dankwah noted.
