Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale has criticised the organisers of his cancelled ShattaFest UK concert, blaming poor planning and event management for the unfortunate incident that led to the show’s cancellation.
Speaking after the event was called off, the award-winning musician expressed disappointment over the turn of events, saying fans who travelled from different parts of the UK and beyond deserved a better experience.
Shatta Wale accused the promoters of failing to properly organise the event, alleging that lapses in crowd management and logistics contributed to the situation that forced authorities to intervene.
The concert was cancelled after UK police reportedly shut down the event over safety concerns following severe overcrowding and a reported stampede outside the venue. Emergency services responded to the incident, while organisers urged attendees to stay away from the festival grounds.
Although Shatta Wale sympathised with fans affected by the cancellation, he stressed that the incident should serve as a lesson for event organisers to prioritise safety and proper planning.
He also assured supporters that he remains committed to performing for his fans and expressed hope that a better-organised event would be held in the future.
The organisers are yet to announce whether the concert will be rescheduled or if ticket holders will be refunded, while UK authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
