Maxwell Lukutor Supports South Tongu Rice Farmers with Seedlings and Subsidized Tractor Services

Nearly 200 rice farmers across the South Tongu Constituency received rice seedlings from Hon. Maxwell K. Lukutor as part of efforts to boost production during the current farming season.
The intervention aimed to increase local food production and improve productivity among farmers in the constituency.
As part of the support package, Lukutor also provided subsidized tractor services to help farmers prepare new lands for cultivation. Organisers said the initiative would reduce costs for farmers and encourage the expansion of rice farming ahead of the peak season.
The distribution event was attended by District Chief Executive Hon. Victoria Dzeklo and other local executives.
Beneficiary farmers thanked the Member of Parliament for what they described as a timely intervention. Despite facing low market prices during the previous season due to excess produce, the farmers expressed hope for better pricing conditions this year.
Discussions were also held on acquiring land for a National Buffer Stock warehouse to store surplus produce in future seasons and reduce post-harvest losses.
