“Justice for Christopher Ahordo”: Aflao Youth Protest Alleged Police Inaction Over MoMo Agent’s Death

Residents and youth in Aflao have intensified calls for justice following the killing of mobile money agent Christopher Ahordo, with many accusing the police of failing to act swiftly in addressing growing insecurity in the area.
Carrying placards and chanting solidarity songs, scores of young people took to the streets under the banner “Justice for Christopher Ahordo,” demanding a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
Protesters expressed anger over what they described as persistent attacks on mobile money operators and alleged delays in police response to criminal activities in the municipality.
According to the demonstrators, the late Christopher Ahordo was widely known in the community and had operated his mobile money business for several years before he was reportedly attacked and killed by unidentified assailants.
The incident has since sparked fear among residents and traders, particularly mobile money vendors who say they increasingly feel vulnerable to armed robbery attacks.
Some youth leaders accused security authorities of ignoring repeated concerns about deteriorating safety conditions in parts of Aflao.
They called for increased police visibility, improved intelligence gathering, and the swift arrest of those responsible for the killing.
“We are not only mourning Christopher; we are demanding protection for every young person trying to earn an honest living,” one protester said during the demonstration.
The protesters also urged the government and security agencies to implement stronger measures to protect mobile money operators, who have become frequent targets of violent crimes across the country.
Meanwhile, police officials are yet to issue a detailed public statement on the allegations raised by the demonstrators. However, residents say they remain determined to sustain pressure until justice is served and those behind the killing are brought to book.
