HanyMarket Introduced to BRICS Business Community as Gateway to Africa’s Digital Marketplace

HanyMarket has been presented to an international audience at the BRICS Business Summit as an emerging digital marketplace designed to connect African businesses, consumers and producers with manufacturers, wholesalers and investors from BRICS nations and the wider global economy.

The platform was presented by Prof. Hugh K. Aryee, CEO of HanyPay Global, during panel discussions on Global Cooperation and BRICS, organised by the United Diplomatic Council.

Addressing business executives, investors, entrepreneurs and institutional representatives, Prof. Aryee declared that Africa is ready to participate more actively and competitively in the global digital economy.

“Africa is not waiting for the future Africa is building it,” he said, emphasising the continent’s youthful population, expanding consumer markets, abundant resources and growing technology ecosystem.

Navigating Global Economic Uncertainty

During the first panel session, Prof. Aryee examined the changing geopolitical and economic landscape and its effects on businesses, international trade and investment.

He discussed how companies could navigate global uncertainty, supply-chain disruptions, shifting alliances and emerging economic blocs while continuing to grow during the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
He highlighted the importance of digital infrastructure, innovation and secure, accessible and efficient payment systems in helping businesses conduct cross-border transactions and reach new markets.

According to Prof. Aryee, Africa’s participation in the Fourth Industrial Revolution must extend beyond the consumption of foreign technologies. The continent must build and control digital platforms capable of promoting African products, facilitating payments and connecting local enterprises to global commercial opportunities.

Connecting BRICS Manufacturers and Wholesalers to Africa

During the second panel session, HanyMarket was formally introduced to members of the BRICS business community as a potential gateway to Africa’s digital marketplace.

The presentation generated interest in opportunities for manufacturers, wholesalers and suppliers from BRICS nations to onboard their businesses, showcase their products and connect with customers and commercial partners across Africa.

HanyMarket’s model is designed to support commercial participation across all 54 African countries through a centrally coordinated platform, with appropriate local partnerships, payment channels and operational structures.

The objective is to create a trusted digital environment where African merchants and consumers can access products from international suppliers while African producers, manufacturers and entrepreneurs gain greater exposure to regional and global markets.

Building an Africa–BRICS Digital Trade Corridor

HanyMarket’s long-term vision is to contribute to the establishment of an Africa–BRICS digital trade corridor that facilitates business-to-business, wholesale and consumer trade across borders.

The proposed ecosystem will seek to integrate multiple payment options, including relevant local fiat-payment channels, to enable buyers and sellers to transact using accessible payment methods within their respective countries, subject to applicable regulatory requirements.

Beyond product listings, the broader HanyMarket vision includes merchant verification, trade facilitation, logistics partnerships, customer support and technology-enabled market access.

Prof. Aryee invited manufacturers, wholesalers, logistics providers, financial institutions, payment companies and investors from BRICS nations to explore strategic partnerships with HanyMarket. “This is more than an e-commerce platform. It is about building the digital infrastructure required to connect Africa’s businesses and consumers with the rest of the world,” he stated.

Africa Is Ready to Trade

The presentation positioned HanyMarket as part of a new generation of African-led digital platforms seeking to overcome fragmented markets, payment limitations and cross-border trade barriers.

With Africa increasingly attracting global attention as a major destination for investment, manufacturing, technology and commerce, HanyMarket aims to serve as a bridge between the continent and international markets.

The message delivered at the summit was clear: Africa is ready to trade. BRICS is ready to engage. HanyMarket is building the bridge.
