Benz, 13 car doors destroyed as fire guts mechanic shop in Ho

A fire outbreak at a mechanic shop along S.D.A. Road in Ho has destroyed an unregistered Mercedes-Benz vehicle and several vehicle parts, including 13 detached car doors.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, prompting firefighters from the Ho Regional Headquarters Sub-Station of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) to respond swiftly to the scene.
Upon arrival, firefighters worked to contain the blaze and successfully extinguished it before it could spread to a nearby fertilizer warehouse and other adjoining properties.
Despite the prompt intervention, the fire completely destroyed one unregistered Mercedes-Benz vehicle and 13 detached car doors stored at the workshop. Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported.
Preliminary investigations by the Ghana National Fire Service suggest that uncontrolled burning was the likely cause of the fire.
Following the incident, the Fire Service has urged the public to refrain from uncontrolled burning and strictly observe fire safety precautions to help prevent similar outbreaks.
