Be happy for Sarkodie — Efya tells Blakk Rasta

Sarkodie’s inclusion on a Bob Marley song recently drew the ire of Blakk Rasta, who described it as a “desecration of the holy music.”

Efya has criticized the well-known radio broadcaster for his remarks on Sarkodie. According to her, the inclusion of Sarkodie on the song deserves commendation because it is acceptable in light of Ghana’s musical history.

“People should realize that sometimes nobody cares what you think. Your opinion right now, Mr. Blakk, does not matter. The thing is, the boy has done something, and it’s historic. Be grateful. Let’s honour our people. Let’s be happy for our people,” she told GHOne.

She claimed that Blakk Rasta ought to have considered his words carefully before making them regarding a person whose art had achieved international acclaim.

She added, “What level have you reached to afford you the right to criticize the song? Are you Kwame Yeboah? Please have some Backing before you say some of these things. When somebody has done something monumental, just say good work, bro. This is amazing, bro. It doesn’t hurt.”
