20 Years On: ANSECO 2007 Year Group Gives Back with Modern Library Project
The 2007 year group of Anlo Senior High School (ANSECO) has launched activities to commemorate its 20th anniversary, unveiling plans to transform the school’s library annex into a modern library and e-learning facility.

The anniversary launch was held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at the school’s dining hall. It brought together members of the 2007 year group, school management, representatives of the Anlo Senior High School Old Students Association (ANSSOSA), students and other stakeholders.

From Reunion to Legacy
The anniversary activities began on Friday, September 18, when members of the year group returned to the school for a familiarisation tour.
They toured various parts of the school, visited the proposed site for the library project and interacted with students and members of staff.
The reunion continued later in the evening with a traditional Borborbor entertainment session, giving members an opportunity to reconnect and reminisce about their years at the school.
The following morning, members gathered at the school’s dining hall for the official anniversary launch. The group also observed a minute’s silence in honour of about 10 former colleagues who have passed away. Pasted markdown
Modern Library and E-Learning Facility
The centrepiece of the anniversary activities is the renovation and transformation of the school’s library annex into a modern learning and research facility.
According to the group, the completed facility is expected to provide students with a conducive environment for reading, research and digital learning while serving as a lasting legacy for current and future students.
The project is expected to include modern library furniture and cabinets capable of accommodating at least 5,000 books, including textbooks aligned with the current standard-based curriculum. Pasted markdown
The facility will also have tiled flooring, modern reading tables and chairs, improved ventilation and air-conditioning to create a more comfortable environment for students during study periods.
A major component of the project will be an e-library management centre with full internet connectivity, providing students with access to digital resources and supporting academic research and other educational activities. Pasted markdown
The year group intends to complete the project ahead of the climax of its 20th anniversary celebration scheduled for July 2027.
GH¢95,000 Project
Coordinator of the Anniversary Launch, Mr Frederick Amaglo, said the project was estimated to cost not less than GH¢95,000.
He added that the year group was committed to mobilising the necessary resources to ensure the successful completion of the project. Pasted markdown
ANSSOSA Commends Initiative
The ANSSOSA Global President, Mr Aaron Mensah Hanyabui, congratulated the 2007 year group for choosing to give back to their alma mater through a project designed to directly benefit current and future students.
He encouraged other old students to embrace the spirit of giving back to the institutions that played important roles in shaping their lives.
Mr Hanyabui noted that initiatives of this nature demonstrated that the relationship between old students and their alma mater could continue long after graduation. Pasted markdown
The ANSSOSA Diaspora Deputy Financial Secretary, Mr Kwame Ladzekpo, also commended the year group and urged its members to remain united and committed until the project was completed.
He further encouraged members to remain active in ANSSOSA and honour their association obligations, particularly the payment of dues, to support the broader development of the school and the association. Pasted markdown
Call for Stakeholder Support
Madam Mercy Adzikadzi, Assistant Coordinator of the anniversary launch and a former Girls Prefect of the 2007 year group, congratulated her colleagues for the initiative.
She appealed to corporate organisations, educational institutions, old students, individuals and other stakeholders to support the project.
She stressed that the facility would benefit students beyond the 2007 year group.

The 2007 year group’s 20th anniversary initiative therefore combines a reunion of former classmates with a practical investment in the school, with the proposed library and e-learning facility expected to serve generations of students beyond the anniversary celebration.
