Ghanaian rapper Trigmatic has expressed concern over the increasing influence of Nigerian Afrobeats on Ghanaian music.
During an appearance on Bryt TV’s Top 10 Countdown, he observed that many Ghanaian artists are adopting the Nigerian sound at the expense of Ghana’s unique musical identity.
Trigmatic called on local musicians to prioritize originality by incorporating Ghanaian languages, cultural expressions, and traditional influences into their music. He noted that while trends in the music industry will continue to evolve, authenticity is what stands out and sells on the global stage.

His message serves as a reminder for Ghanaian artists to embrace their roots and craft a distinct sound that reflects their heritage.
