Fifi Kwetey: NPP delivered worst governance in Ghana’s history

General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, has launched a scathing critique of the previous New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration, describing its performance as the worst in Ghana’s democratic history.

Kwetey’s comments come in the wake of the NDC’s decisive victory in the 2024 general elections, which he said reflected a call by Ghanaians for a reset in both governance and moral standards.

Speaking on Channel One  TV’s Face to Face with Umaru Sanda Amadu, Mr. Kwetey said the NPP’s style of governance resulted in the collapse of both economic and moral institutions in the country.

“NDC was the instrument that provided a certain hope for the people of Ghana. Naturally, there was anger on one side. We thought these guys (NDC) were bad at 2016, but if you really compare what happened eight years under the NDC and what we have now, this is what we call the lowest of the low,” he said.

He went further to accuse the NPP administration of overseeing a complete breakdown of national values, and described the former president as the lowest the country has ever seen.

“This is the total degeneration of a country, this is the collapse of the morality of the country. This is the lowest President in the history of the country. Ghana’s soul rebelled against. That’s how bad it was,” he pointed out.
