Parliament approves Ato Forson, Dominic Ayine, and John Jinapor as Ministers
President John Dramani Mahama’s first batch of ministerial nominees by Parliament marks an important milestone in the formation of his new government.
After a thorough vetting process led by the Appointments Committee on January 13, 2025, the nominees: Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson as Minister for Finance, Dr. Dominic Ayine as Attorney General and Minister for Justice, and John Jinapor as Minister for Energy; were vetted for their qualifications, experience, and proposed plans for their respective roles.
The vetting process involved detailed discussions on how the nominees intended to tackle pressing national issues. Following the debate and deliberation, Parliament voted to approve the appointments, allowing the nominees to officially take up their roles and start executing their duties.
This approval is an early indication of President Mahama’s commitment to assembling a capable team to meet the challenges ahead and fulfill the priorities of his administration.
