NK Foundation Supports 250 Students with Educational Materials in South Tongu

The NK Foundation has donated educational materials to about 250 pupils and students in five basic schools in the South Tongu District of the Volta Region as part of efforts to promote education and ease the financial burden on parents.

The donation, which marks the Foundation’s third consecutive annual educational outreach, comprised exercise books, pens, pencils, erasers, mathematical sets and rulers to support teaching and learning.

The beneficiary schools were Agorta D/A Junior High School, Dalive-Torzikpota D/A Primary School, Dabala E.P. Basic School ‘A’, Dabala E.P. Basic School ‘B’ and Dabala Comboni R.C. Basic School.

The intervention placed particular emphasis on pupils and students preparing for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), providing them with essential learning materials ahead of the national examination.

During engagements with the beneficiaries, several students shared their career aspirations and expressed appreciation for the support.

Agama Clara, a Form Two student of Agorta D/A Junior High School, said she aspired to become a nurse to care for sick people in her community, while Sarpong Jessica, a Class Four pupil of Dalive-Torzikpota D/A Primary School, expressed her ambition to become a fashion designer.

Daniella Galley, a final-year student of Dabala E.P. Basic School ‘B’ and the school’s Sanitation Prefect, said she hoped to pursue a career in law to advocate for justice.

Emilia Ekpe, a Form Three student and Girls’ Prefect, speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, thanked the Foundation for the gesture and pledged that the materials would be used responsibly to support their academic development.

Mr Peter Narteh, Assembly Member for the Dalive-Torzikpota Electoral Area, commended the Foundation for sustaining the initiative and described its commitment to educational development as commendable.

He expressed the hope that the partnership between the Foundation and the beneficiary communities would continue to grow to provide further support for schools and learners.

The annual outreach is held in memory of the late Mr Samuel Ameku, popularly known as “Blackie,” to sustain his legacy of compassion, community support and youth development.
