IMF shocked at Ghana’s economic recovery – Sammi Awuku

Sammi Awuku, the director general of the National Lotteries Authority, has praised the Akufo-Addo administration for the initiatives being taken to strengthen the faltering Ghanaian economy.

According to Mr. Awuku, immediate action is being taken to produce the required improvement.

On Tuesday, August 22, the former national organizer of the New Patriotic Party remarked on Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana show that even the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is astounded by the nation’s economic turnaround.

The NLA leader acknowledged that things are difficult but predicted brighter times.

He asked Ghanaians to assist the administration in reviving the economy in order to benefit everyone.

“We have to celebrate our modest success story which became the toast of the world. But now post Covid-19, the IMF itself is shocked at Ghana’s economy recovery. It’s been faster than they expected.”

“So these builders of the economy I am confident that they will be able to take us through these difficult moments that we find ourselves,” he said.

President Akufo-Addo received accolades from Mr. Awuku for acknowledging the difficult circumstances in which the nation finds itself.

He claimed that was the sign of a moral and trustworthy leader.

“Look, times are challenging and anybody who pretends that times are okay then that person is being disingenuous, but times are challenging not just in Ghana and even our president has admitted that these are challenging times and that is the honesty I want in my leader”
