Honest Airport Cleaner Promoted After Returning $10,000 Found on Plane
Airport Cleaner, Auwal Ahmad Dankode received a promotion, a letter of recommendation, and a monetary present for returning $10,000 (about N16 million) that a passenger on seat No. 25H left behind in an airplane.
While cleaning the Egypt Air-operated MS878 aircraft in Kano, Dankode discovered an enormous quantity of cash and promptly gave it back to the manager of the airline station.
According to Daily Trust, Dankode was welcomed by his employer at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos, where the company has its headquarters. On X, his employer also gave him a celebration.
The GMD/CEO of NAHCO, Mr Indranil Gupta, hailed Dankode’s honesty and integrity.

“As a reward for his honesty, Auwal received a letter of commendation, a promotion, and cash gifts from NAHCO,” @nahco_aviance wrote on X.
