“E-Levy Doesn’t Make Any Sense” – Kwaw Kese
Since the government, through the Ministry of Finance, proposed the electronic transaction tax in the previous year’s budget for 2022, the e-levy has been a hot subject in Ghana.
Many Ghanaians have expressed their unhappiness with this plan. Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta revealed the government’s plan to establish the electronic transaction fee.
Many people have resorted to social media to condemn the decision, describing it as a strategy designed to rob the ordinary Ghanaian of his little earnings.
Kwaw Kese, the Ghanaian rapper, is the latest Ghanaian celebrity to criticize the government over the e-levy controversy.
According to him, the e-levy is ineffective because Ghanaians are opposed to it, and the government must pay attention to their concerns.
He went on to say that the government’s frantic drive to force the e-levy tax bill through proves they’re searching for a way to steal the country’s money.
