Desmond Elliot returns to Nollywood after APC primary loss

Lawmaker representing Surulere Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Desmond Elliot, appears to have returned to acting following his defeat in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election.
The development comes after photographs of the actor-turned-politician on a movie set with fellow Nollywood star Ibrahim Chatta surfaced on social media.
The images showed Elliot and Chatta standing together on what appeared to be a film location, engaged in conversation during the production.
Several social media users said they were eager to see Elliot back on screen after years of active politics as a Lagos State lawmaker.
The Nollywood veteran-turned-politician recently failed in his bid to secure the APC ticket for Surulere Constituency I ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The three-term lawmaker lost the party’s primary election to Barakat Odunuga-Bakare, who polled an overwhelming majority of votes in the contest.
Elliot, who rose to fame as a Nollywood actor before venturing into politics, has yet to comment publicly on his reported return to filmmaking after the APC primary setback.
