Central Tongu District Assembly Pledges Support for Three Kings Special School After Devastating Fire

The Central Tongu District Assembly has pledged to provide support to the Three Kings Special School For The Blind in Avakpedome after a devastating fire ravaged the school’s dormitory, leaving 25 students with visual impairment and the resident Unit Headmaster displaced.
The fire destroyed essential items, including students’ clothing, books, and vital educational equipment.
The Unit Headmaster, Mr. Victor Bobison, expressed shock at the incident, stating that the fire likely originated from the ceiling and spread rapidly. He appealed to corporate Ghana and well-meaning individuals to support the school in rebuilding and renovating the dormitory before the next academic session.
The District Chief Executive, Mr. Dodzi Addison Mornyuie, visited the school to assess the damage and provided immediate assistance to the students and headmaster.
Mr. Mornyuie assured the school community that the district assembly would work tirelessly to ensure the dormitory is renovated and safe for the students before the next academic session.
He emphasized the assembly’s commitment to collaborating with relevant stakeholders to prevent such incidents in the future and ensure a safe learning environment for all students.
The Assembly Member, Madam Esenam Kakah, commended the Ghana National Fire Service for their prompt response and urged parents, students, and teachers not to panic, expressing hope that the government would provide the necessary support to the school.
