Anlo Traditional Council Enforces Ban on Drumming and Noise-Making

The Anlo Traditional Council has announced the commencement of the annual ban on drumming and noise-making across the 36 towns of Anlo Dukor.
The ban, which took effect on August 10, 2026, will remain in force until August 29, 2026.
According to the Council, the directive applies to residents, businesses, religious bodies, visitors, and other persons within the Anlo traditional area.
During the period, all forms of excessive noise-making are prohibited, including traditional drumming, playing of musical instruments, outdoor celebrations, and the use of loudspeaker systems.

The Council has appealed to the public to fully comply with the directive and help preserve the solemnity, peace, and sanctity of the period.
It further cautioned that enforcement is already in effect and warned that persons who violate the directive could face legal action.
The Council urged all residents, institutions and visitors to respect the ban and cooperate with the traditional authorities throughout the period.
