Applicants Raise Concerns Over Glitches in GES Recruitment Portal

Some applicants seeking teaching positions with the Ghana Education Service (GES) have expressed frustration over technical difficulties encountered during the ongoing recruitment process.
According to a report monitored by ShineMeGh.com, the challenges emerged shortly after GES opened applications on April 10, 2026, inviting qualified graduates to apply for available teaching roles nationwide.
Affected applicants say the online recruitment portal has been experiencing glitches that are disrupting the application process. Among the key issues reported are:
Missing names of some Colleges of Education on the platform, forcing applicants to select institutions they did not attend, certain subject or class categories appearing as already full, preventing candidates from completing their submissions.
These challenges, applicants say, have made it difficult to submit accurate information within the limited application period.
Speaking to the media anonymously, one applicant urged GES to take swift action to resolve the issues before the April 17 deadline.
He stressed that the short application window—just one week—makes it critical for the system to function smoothly.
The applicant also appealed to the Service to allow corrections for those who may have entered incorrect details due to earlier system errors. Applicants are further calling on GES to:
Update the portal to include all relevant Colleges of Education, reopen or extend access for candidates affected by the glitches, provide an opportunity to amend previously submitted applications.
The situation has raised concerns about fairness and accessibility in the recruitment exercise, particularly for unemployed trained teachers who rely on such opportunities for employment.
As the deadline approaches, many applicants are hoping for immediate intervention from GES to ensure a smooth and transparent recruitment process.
