Ketu South MCE praised for responsiveness and transparency after one year in office

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ketu South, Nicholas Kwabla Worclachie, has been commended for his responsiveness and openness to public engagement following his one-year anniversary in office.

The praise comes from former Keta Municipal Assembly member Gilbert Korbla Keklie, in a statement monitored by ShineMeGh.com.

According to Mr Keklie, the Ketu South MCE, Mr Worclachie distinguished himself by responding to a public appeal he made to several municipal and district chief executives within the Volta Region.

The appeal had called on the leadership of the Ketu South Municipal Assembly, Keta Municipal Assembly, and Anloga District Assembly to publicly outline their achievements after completing one year in office.

Mr Keklie noted that among the three assemblies, the Ketu South MCE was the only one who acknowledged the request and followed through by publishing a report detailing his administration’s performance over the past year.

He described this action as a sign of strong leadership and accountability.

The former assembly member further praised the MCE for embracing public feedback and recognizing the importance of social media as a platform for citizen engagement.

He said the move reflects respect for public opinion and a willingness to be transparent in governance.

Mr Keklie has therefore urged other municipal and district chief executives to adopt a similar approach by engaging more openly with the public and providing regular updates on their work.

Observers say the development highlights the growing role of citizen engagement and digital platforms in promoting transparency and accountability in local governance.

The gesture by the Ketu South MCE is being seen as a step toward strengthening trust between public officials and the communities they serve.
