Akufo-Addo knows his efforts to combat corruption have not succeeded – Vim Lady
It has been suggested by radio host Afia Pokua, popularly known as Vim Lady, that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is aware of his failures in his fight against corruption.
In 2017, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo made a vow to safeguard public funds. He also urged his appointees to resign from public office if they intended to utilize their positions to generate income.
The office of the special prosecutor was subsequently formed by the president to aid in addressing concerns related to corruption.
However, Afia Pokua feels that none of these assurances were supported by the necessary steps to combat systemic corruption.
Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, in her opinion, is aware that he has fallen short of her expectations given the pledges he made to the Ghanaian people and the way he handled the several corruption scandals that rocked his administration.
“Among other things, Nana Addo promised to protect the public coffers, but he failed to comply. He is well aware of his own failures in the battle against corruption. The president will assert his confidence in the person’s innocence even in cases where it is evident that they have engaged in corruption, she added.
