Akosombo Dam Spillage: St. Francis College of Education supports residents affected by flood with exercise books and cash
The management of St. Francis College of Education, led by the Principal, Dr. Adwoa Kwegyiriba has reached out to residents who were affected by recent floods in Mepe and Battor in the North Tongu district of the Volta Region.
The college donated 200 branded exercise books to students who were also affected in the area, embodying a commitment to academic empowerment.
The Principal also donated a cash sum of GHC 10,000 to the flood residents in Mepe and Battor to help cushion their plight.
Dr. Kwegyiriba emphasized that this initiative was part of the college’s corporate social responsibility, reflecting a dedication to nurturing education even during challenging circumstances.
She lamented the sight of numerous school children, who were the potential future leaders of the nation, unable to attend school due to the flood situation.
The Principal indicated that “the donation aims not only to provide immediate assistance but also to convey a message of solidarity. We are are poised to support our brothers and sisters in their time of adversity “.
She assured that more support would be given to the residents in coming weeks.
Mamagah Asieku V of Battor received the items on behalf of Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu Constituency.
She expressed gratitude to the management of the college and pledged that every student would benefit from the donation.
