Radio and TV character Afia Schwarzenegger has sued the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) prevalently known as Chairman Wontumi.
Added to the claim is legal counselor Maurice Ampaw. Afia counter-sued the two for GH¢8 million.
Earlier, Chairman Wontumi sued Afia Schwarzenegger for GH¢2 million for defaming him.
The suit is coming after Afia Schwarzenegger alleged in a video made public that she has had sexual relations with Chairman Wontumi.
Chairman Wontumi’s lawyer, Maurice Ampaw had come out to deny Afia’s claims and asked her to desist.
Afia received maddened by the message and went via web-based entertainment to rain curses on Chairman Wontumi.
Director Wontumi and he since, through his Lawyers, sued the mother of three for maligning.
In the writ addressed to Afia, Chairman Wontumi is requesting “harms of 2,000,000 Ghana cedis (GH¢2,000,000.00) for maligning the Plaintiff. Cost including lawful expenses.”
However, Afia talking on UTV’s United Showbiz on Saturday, July 9, 2022, said she has named Maurice Ampaw, as a respondent in two separate maligning suits.
“My attorneys have accepted their writ and we have entered an appearance. Likewise, we have documented a GH¢4 million suit at the Accra High Court. In the long run, we will serve them. I have sued Wontumi TV for GH¢4 million and sued Maurice Ampaw for GH¢4 million,” she said.
As per her, she has been maligned by Maurice Ampaw and she has consequently sued him along with Wontumi TV which gave him the stage to slander her.
“Maurice Ampaw says he has proof that John Mahama has purchased a house for me, he said Wontumi let him know that I engaged in sexual relations with a canine and that I have different beaus I travel around with among other terrible things. So he will demonstrate that in court. Wontumi TV additionally gave them the stage to distribute misrepresentations against me. They have sued for GHC2 million, I and my legal advisors have likewise sued for GHC8 million. How about we test the regulations in light of the fact that for me, I have confidence in the legal framework thus we will meet in court,” she added.
