“Stop Using My Music!” Kwame Yogot blasts Bawumia after NPP disgraced his grandad

Kwame Yogot, a well-known Ghanaian musician, claims Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has been using his famous song “Biibi Besi” for political campaigns without his permission.

Yogot expressed his disgust and warned Bawumia and his campaign staff in a widely shared video, requesting that they stop using his music.

Yogot said that he had not authorized the NPP to use his music and that he was unaware of their usage of it. He stated that he felt “very disrespected” by the NPP’s behavior and that he was “very disappointed” in them.

Kwame Yogot’s grandfather, James Gyakye Quayson, was the Member of Parliament for Assin North until he was disqualified from office in 2022. Quayson is currently facing a court case challenging his disqualification.

The artist claimed that he believed the NPP was exploiting his songs to “stoke emotions” and “gain political mileage.” He said that his music would not be utilized for political ends and that he would not support either the NPP or the NDC.

He emphasized that he had complained to the Ghanaian Copyright Society and that he had thought of suing the NPP.

Yogot’s accusation has not received a response from the NPP.”Biibi Besi” and “Aben Wo Ha” are some of the popular songs by Kwame Yogot.
