Byno Ayoni crowned TV3’s Mentor XII winner

Mentor, this year’s flagship TV reality show that aired on one of Ghana’s largest television stations, TV3, has come to an end.

Alatevi KorblaJohn, also known as Byno on the TV3 Mentor stage, was named the winner of the eleventh season of the music reality show Mentor.

Byno’s dual mastery of the trumpet and vocals resulted in a musical alchemy that reimagined Lucky Dube’s 1992 hit in an entirely new light. Over the weeks, he not only won the Star Performer title, but he also became a multiple award winner of this prestigious honor.

Byno Ayoni, a threetime Star performer on the show, beat competition from 6CA, L Boat, Majesti, and Hy5 to win the enviable and prestigious competition that has churned out tons of music talents into the Ghanaian music scenes.

The use of a reggae song added depth to the performance, as the genre is frequently used to convey messages of love, unity, and resilience. Byno translated these themes into a personal narrative that resonated with the collective human experience through his dance.

Mentor, known for giving artists a platform to showcase their talent and share their stories, became the ideal setting for Byno to connect with people outside of the dance floor. His emotional performance demonstrated not only his skill as a dancer, but also his ability to use art as a healing and self-expression medium.

In a world where art has the power to bridge divides and touch hearts, Byno’s performance on the Mentor stage exemplifies the transformative power of music and dance. Byno invites us all to reflect on the power of resilience, the beauty of self-expression, and the universal need for connection through this emotional journey. Watch the video to feel the emotional depth of Byno’s performance on the Mentor stage.

Other winners included 6CA, L Boat, and Majesti, who finished second, third, and fourth, respectively.
