General Secretary for the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua, has unreservedly apologised to the people of Ghana, who they have been unfair to.
He noticed that when they came to power, they disappointed several people who did not forgive them going into the 2024 elections.
To him, the New Patriotic Party at a point forgot about how they came to power and did not drive their base along, and they were taught a great lesson from that.
“I want to use this opportunity to apologize on behalf of the president my chairman, and all other executives of the party, the people in our stronghold who were disappointed we did not deliver the needed infrastructure, people who sold their properties to support us in 2016 but we failed to rope you in, lawyers who served as polling station agents but we came and forgot, contractors we did not pay, and all other young people who supported the party in 2016 and 2020 in the hope of getting something to do; we are sorry,” he said.
“Politics goes beyond projects; key among the things to consider is human management. The way you’ll relate with people and make them understand that you think about them. That is where we failed as a government. We failed to carry our people along.
At a point, we forgot about how we even came to power. We need to reconcile with our God, our Lord, so that he remembers us. Even the Bible says that if you seek the face of the Lord, he will forgive you. I can tell you the battle is still the lords and anything that has happened we will recover and in 2028 we will come back again,” he told Asempa FM in an interview.
