Tsekpo regains Hohoe Seat, declares development as top most agenda
Mr Thomas Worlanyo Tsekpo, Hohoe National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate has won the Hohoe Parliamentary Seat.
Mr Tsekpo in his first attempt contesting regain the Seat from Mr John-Peter Amewu, Hohoe Constituency New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate and the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP).Mr Tsekpo secured a landslide victory with 31,163 votes beating Mr Amewu who secured 14,971 votes while Madam Esther Amevor of the National Democratic Party (NDP) secured 55 votes and Mr Stephen Dzidefo Adzraku of People’s National Convention (PNC) polled 39 votes.
Total number of registered voters in the Constituency stood at 70,644, number of votes cast was 46,542, total valid votes cast, 46,228 and 314 rejected ballots.
Mr Foster Asante, Returning Officer declared Mr Tsekpo as the MP-elect.
Mr Tsekpo said he was grateful to NDC members and all constituents since without them, he would not have been elected.
He said development of the Constituency remained his top most agenda where he would work hard and make the Constituency a place to be.
Mr Tsekpo said he was not going to do “a winner takes all” since he was elected as a Member of Parliament for all constituents.
He promised to tackle youth employment, empower women and would work with the other parliamentary candidates to make Hohoe Constituency a peaceful destination for all.
