Team Praise Ministry, Celestines Foundation support inmates of Ho Central Prisons

Team Praise Ministry, in partnership with the Celestines Foundation, has organised a gospel outreach at the Ho Central Prisons, where inmates were supported with assorted items to complement efforts aimed at improving their welfare.

The outreach, dubbed “Barak Experience VI”, was held in collaboration with the Ho Central Prisons Chaplaincy and included the presentation of bags of sachet water, sanitary pads, detergents and other essential items to the inmates.

Mr John Agbali, Patron of Team Praise Ministry, said the initiative was part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to support inmates through spiritual encouragement and modest material assistance.

He said the event sought to encourage reflection, hope and positive attitudes among inmates, in line with the reformative objectives of the Ghana Prisons Service.

Mr Agbali noted that the gesture was intended to complement existing institutional support systems and demonstrate care and solidarity with inmates.

He expressed appreciation to the prison authorities for their cooperation and assured them of the Ministry’s willingness to continue collaborating on programmes that promoted moral values and rehabilitation.

He encouraged the inmates to turn to Jesus Christ, remain focused on personal improvement and make good use of opportunities available to them during their period of incarceration, stressing the importance of discipline, good conduct and preparation for eventual reintegration into society.

Ms Celestine Adzah, Chief Executive Officer of the Celestines Foundation, said the Foundation was pleased to partner Team Praise Ministry to support the initiative.

She said the collaboration reflected the Foundation’s commitment to contributing to the wellbeing of vulnerable groups, including persons in custodial institutions.

She used the occasion to sensitise the inmates on the importance of personal hygiene, noting that good hygiene practices played a key role in maintaining health and preventing the spread of infections.

Ms Adzah encouraged the inmates to make responsible use of the sanitary items and detergents presented.

Ms Adzah further urged the inmates to support one another in maintaining a clean and healthy environment within the facility and reaffirmed the Foundation’s readiness to collaborate with institutions and organisations whose work contributed to human dignity and social wellbeing.

Reverend/ASP Courage Atsu, the Regional Chaplain of the Ho Central Prisons, lauded the leadership of Team Praise Ministry and the Celestines Foundation for their sustained interest in the welfare of inmates.

He said such collaborations complemented the chaplaincy’s efforts to provide spiritual guidance, moral support and counselling to inmates as part of the reformation process.

He expressed appreciation for the donations and the messages of encouragement delivered during the programme, noting that initiatives of this nature helped boost the morale of inmates and reinforced values of hope, discipline and responsibility.

Reverend Atsu encouraged faith-based organisations and civil society groups to continue supporting the Ghana Prisons Service in ways that aligned with its rehabilitation mandate.
