NSS person arrested for issuing fake GES appointments

Police have arrested Ziblim Abdul Latif, a National Service member at Yendi Senior High School (SHS) in the Northern Region, on suspicion of faking Ghana Education Service (GES) appointment posting letters.

Around a hundred people were among the victims, all of whom were looking for work and had applied to GES.

Dr. Peter Attafuah, the Regional Director of Education, told Citi News that the suspect’s letters contain fake signatures from both the Director-General and the Regional Director of Education. The suspect gave this information to the police.

Two victims, he claims, have gone to the police station to give statements confirming the suspect’s actions. These declarations are available at the station.

“Every now and then, we overhear a bunch of people congregating at the offices or even right here saying that they are instructors, but that we don’t pay them,” says one employee.

“When you go through this line and think you’ll get a paycheck, you’re misleading yourself,” Mr. Attafuah explained, “since all of those that GES recruit have their names [recorded elsewhere].” “You are misleading yourself if you think you would receive a wage after going through this queue.”
