The leaders of Ukraine are pleading with the United States and other Western partners for air defense systems and longer-range missiles in order to maintain the momentum of their counteroffensive against Russia and respond to Moscow’s stepped-up strikes. Allies are determined to deploying weapons “as quickly as we can physically get them there,” according to Austin.
