God loves me; I go to church in my raw state as a man – Ghanaian Transgender Martin Hughes
Ghanaian transwoman, Ohemartin disclosed that she goes before the creator as a man. She does that because she wants to be seen in her raw state whilst worshipping in church.
Being a transwoman, Ohemartin prefers to be identified as a woman despite being born male.
During an interview on the Delay show, she said, “When I go to church, I’m just normal with my joggers and shirts. I dress like a man when I go to church. I do that because I just want to be in my raw state. Even women have their raw state .”
After that statement, the host quoted the Bible saying, “A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man nor shall a man put on a woman’s garments. For all who do so are an abomination to the Lord your God.”
Ohemartin replied, “I have read that part of the Bible. But as I said earlier, God knows everything.”
According to Ohemartin, God knows everything. Therefore, he knows how a person will turn out before creating them.
“I’m not sure God doesn’t know how things are going to go before creating people. He knows how things are going to go, and he knows my state right now. I pray about myself every day, yeah, and I know God loves me,” she said.
She also mentioned that she feels uncomfortable discussing issues of Christianity.
“I go to church a lot. But when we talk about Christianity as a topic, I feel a lot of people want to bring God into issues of how people should act or who they choose to sleep with. It’s very uncomfortable, and that is very wrong because even in the Bible, God says come as you are and not as you pretend,“ Ohemartin concluded.
