Nigeria Police To Interrogate Burna Boy after police guarding him allegedly shot 2 men

On Sunday, the Nigerian Police Force announced that musician Damini Ogulu, also known as Burna Boy, would be quizzed as part of the investigation into a shooting at a Lagos nightclub.

After shooting two fun seekers, Irebami Lawrence and another identified simply as Tolu, inside Club Cubana in Lagos on Wednesday, the Lagos State Police Commissioner’s Special Squad detained five officers associated with the singer for attempted murder.

In a tweet on Sunday, the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, noted that to ensure detailed investigation on the case, Burna Boy would have to be interrogated.

Adejobi was responding to a fan who stated that the incident had nothing to do with Burna Boy.

“This has nothing to do with Burna Boy,” the tweep, known as Adeshina, stated. Burna Boy’s life is the responsibility of the police guard. So, sir, disregard what some of Burna’s detractors have stated about him. Sir, please do our research with caution.”

“Exactly what we will do,” Adejobi responded. However, the police would not want to conduct a thorough investigation without questioning Burna Boy. There’s no way.

“As a result, the extent to which everyone was involved in the incident will determine whether he is punished or not.” We shouldn’t make assumptions about what the report will uncover.”
