Prison experience drew me closer to God – Agradaa

Former fetish priestess-turned-evangelist, Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, has indicated that her time in prison has deepened her spiritual life and strengthened her faith in God.

Speaking before a church congregation on Sunday, March 22, she described her period in custody as a transformative experience that brought her closer to God and reshaped her purpose.

“I was sent to prison but today I say in praise of God’s name that, I will never regret for going to prison. I will never regret because what God has given me through this journey is big and cannot be bought with money,” she said.

According to her, the experience has empowered her spiritually and strengthened her resolve to continue her ministry, adding that she now feels a renewed sense of purpose in spreading her message.

Nana Agradaa was released from the Nsawam Prison after serving eight months in custody, following a revision of her sentence.

She was initially handed a 15-year prison term on July 3, 2025, after being convicted of defrauding by false pretence and charlatanic advertisement. However, her legal team challenged the ruling, arguing that the sentence was excessive.

The Amasaman High Court later reduced the sentence to 12 calendar months, describing the original punishment as harsh.

Her release comes after serving two-thirds of the revised sentence in line with Ghana’s remission regulations.
