Politicians are behaving like comedians – Blakk Rasta

Blakk Rasta took a deep dive into the ongoing bribery allegations involving Ghana’s parliamentary vetting process.

He expressed disbelief over the actions of certain politicians, saying, “These same people who are talking about the fact that they value their integrity and reputation look like they are behaving like comedians, he said on his show on 3FM monitored by MyNewsGh.

He raised a serious question about the integrity of politicians in light of the bribery claims, particularly calling out certain members of the parliamentary majority.

He explained, “My brother, we were in Ghana here when a certain MP from Tamale demeaned himself and the whole Parliament of Ghana by picking up ballot papers and stashing them into his mouth because the elections were not going the right way in his opinion.”

Referring to the speaker election, Blakk Rasta recounted how the MP’s actions were supported by the majority in Parliament.

He remarked, “When we were voting for a speaker of Parliament, we all remember Carlos. He was the one who did that. In one way or another, he was supported by the majority in Parliament.”

Blakk Rasta, in his frustration, questioned the sincerity of those who now claim integrity.

“Then today, my brother, my sister, the majority that all of a sudden has become the minority says it has some integrity. Where is that integrity when we flew planes out of this nation in private planes?” he asked.

His comments come after the Appointments Committee of Parliament summoned activist Oliver Barker-Vormawor to substantiate allegations that its members demand money from nominees before their vetting.

The claims, which surfaced ahead of the vetting of Defence Minister-designate Dr. Omane Boamah on Tuesday, January 28, sparked widespread debate.

Responding to the allegations, Bernard Ahiafor, Chairman of the Committee and First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, firmly denied any such practice.
