Peace FM Renders Apology To TV3’s Natalie Fort, Pays Huge Damages For Defamation
An Accra based media house Peace FM, under the despite Media has rendered an unqualified apology to award-winning News Anchor of TV3 Natalie Fort over a publication that defamed her character.
The apology comes after the media house was slapped with a lawsuit filed by Natalie Fort in September 2019, represented by Lawyer, Kweku Y. Paintsil of Paintsil & Co.
Natalie Fort filed a suit for Defamation of Character against 7 news portals for publishing a news item with the headline “Natalie Fort pregnant for 4 married men”. The publication further explained that Natalie was involved with four married men including a high ranking politician and was pregnant but couldn’t tell who impregnated her.
The defamation suit filed at the Accra High court were against seven portals namely; Ghana celebrities, Yen Ghana, Ghana web, GH page, Ghana slayers, net buzz Africa and peace FM online.
The apology from Peace FM reads….
“The Management of Peacefmonline do hereby unconditionally retract the republication made against Ms. Natalie Fort for failing to verify the authenticity of the said claims. As a result, the story has since been pulled down. We further solemnly and unreservedly apologise for any harm, damage or loss suffered in consequence thereof to the person of Ms Natalie Fort, including any disaffection made towards her”.
