Ofori-Atta is a suspect, not a person of interest—OSP

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has clarified that former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta is a suspect in ongoing investigations, not merely a person of interest as some reports have suggested.
This clarification was made by Sammy Darko, Head of Communications and Strategy at the OSP, in response to what he described as misinformation being circulated.
The OSP officially declared Ofori-Atta wanted and a fugitive on Wednesday, February 12.
Speaking on The Point of View on Channel One TV, Darko addressed the issue, telling Bernard Avle that,”We have often heard today some propagandists going around and sending messages that Ken Ofori-Atta is a person of interest.”
He firmly refuted this notion, adding: “Ken Ofori-Atta is not a person of interest. In law, there is a wide and big gap between a suspect and a person of interest. Ken Ofori-Atta is a suspect.”
Darko also emphasized the OSP’s commitment to acting strictly within legal boundaries.
“The OSP does not act outside the law; it acts within the law,” he reiterated.
