NPP Fails to Learn Lessons from Election Defeat-Beatrice Annan

Presidential staffer Beatrice Annan has hailed Dr. Dominic Ayine for his stance on legal responsibility while criticizing former Attorney General Godfred Dame for fostering impunity.
Speaking on Metro TV, she stressed that although an Attorney General is not obliged by law to explain a nolle prosequi, transparency should still be upheld.
Annan praised Dr. Ayine for setting a precedent by explaining his decisions. “Unlike Godfred Dame, Dr. Ayine believed that in the spirit of constitutional democracy, he ought to provide a fair and candid reason for his actions. This is what accountability looks like.”
She accused Dame of hiding behind legal technicalities to evade scrutiny. “His attitude was simple—‘I owe nobody an obligation; if you disagree, go to court!’ That mindset erodes trust in governance.”
