Name MP who called Zanetor ‘Daughter of a Murderer’ by Feb 10—Togbi Sri III to…

The chiefs and people of Anloland, under the leadership of Togbi Sri III, the Overlord of Anlo Dukor, have petitioned the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, to identify the Member of Parliament who recently made disparaging remarks about Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, Member of Parliament (MP) for Klottey Korle.

According to the petition, the offensive remark, “Shut up—you daughter of a murderer,” directed at Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, was blasphemous and defamatory.

The incident occurred during a parliamentary debate on Tuesday, February 4, 2025.

Two MPs—Samuel Abu Jinapor, MP for Damango, and Nana Kwame Asafo-Adjei, MP for Bosome Freho—were initially suspected of making the derogatory statement. However, both MPs have since denied being the individuals responsible for the insult.

In the letter dated February 5, the Anlo Dukor Council expressed their deep displeasure over the incident, emphasizing the gravity of the insult.

The council stressed that Zanetor Agyeman Rawlings, the eldest daughter of former President Jerry John Rawlings, is a respected figure within the Anlo community, and the remarks were perceived as an attack on her father’s legacy.

The council therefore called for the identification of the MP who made the offensive remark by February 10, 2025, so that the Anlo Dukor leadership and community can decide on the next steps.

The Chiefs of Anloland are insistent that such disrespectful behavior in Parliament must not go unaddressed, particularly given the historical and cultural significance of the Rawlings family to the Anlo people.
