Ghanaian Highlife musician, Gregory Bortey Newman who goes by the stage King Promise has revealed why he’s mostly seen making great strides in the UK and USA.
“You mostly see me in London because that’s where the work has taken us to and besides we want to take the music I’m doing to the rest of the world,” he said on Kastle FM in Cape Coast.
He added, “The white people in those countries are also part of the system so once in a while then you take it to them and after that, we come back home to do something else”.
King Promise in an interview on the Kastle Entertainment Show said he needs to penetrate the international market with his songs because what he’s doing is bigger than just staying in Ghana.
“Because what we are doing is bigger than just staying at home so we need to take it to the rest of the world and that’s how we want to progress with what we are doing,” he told Amansan Krakye.
He continued, “So sometimes you’d see us in London and other times too we are in the US to make sure we also do penetrate their market with our songs”.
