I’ll Turn Down Endorsement Deals On Alcohol And Bleaching Creams

The issue of Ghanaian celebrities not allowed to advertise for alcoholic beverages has been topical for quite some time now.

Celebrities like Edem, Kwame Dzokoto, Wendy Shay and others have bemoaned law and have asked the Food and Drugs Board to help repeal that act.

However, not all celebrities would like to do ads for alcoholic beverages.

Ghanaian actress and TV presenter, Nana Ama McBrown, has said that irrespective of the amount of money she’s offered, she will never endorse brands that produce alcohol or bleaching creams.

“As I speak, I have decided not to do alcohol or bleaching creams; whatever brand, whatever money I will be given, I will not do it. Aside from that, I am ready to market anything,” she told AJ Sarpong on Citi TV’s ‘Hall of Fame.’

Explaining her decision, the mother of one said she is a role model to a lot of children in the country and in the wake of that needs to be careful about what she does.

“I am an influence on the children in the country so there are few things I have decided not to pay attention to,” Nana Ama added.
