Eddy Kenzo still wants fans to dance ‘Nkudi song’, calls out UNCC over slapping ruthless ban on Lil Pazzo and Gravity
The President of the Uganda National Musicians Federation, Eddy Kenzo, has criticized the UNCC for banning performances by Gravity Omutujju and Lil Pazo.
Kenzo argued that the UNCC lacks the authority to impose such bans, which should fall under the jurisdiction of the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC).
“UNCC has no mandate to summon or ban artists from performing. They should have consulted the musicians’ leadership before taking such actions. You can’t regulate someone without offering support,” he stated.
On December 9, Gravity Omutujju together with partner in crime, Lil Pazo, once again had run-ins with authorities over their controversial music lyrics and videos.
The Uganda National Cultural Centre (UNCC) summoned the two musicians for a hearing at National Theatre, which the two artists snubbed.
The meeting was intended to address concerns raised about the vulgar content in their songs, including Lil Pazzo’s “Enkudi” and “Ensujju”, and Gravity’s “Okwepicha”, “Enyama”, “Doozi”, and his latest release, “Omunio”.
