Dr Kweku Oteng refused to pick my calls after promising to sponsor my concert – Sonnie Badu alleges

Gospel musician from Ghana, Sonnie Badu, has accused Dr. Kweku Oteng, CEO of Angel Group of Companies, of betraying him after he said he would back his “Rhythms of Africa” concert.

Speaking on Okay FM in Accra on December 12, Sonnie Badu discussed several setbacks he experienced in the lead-up to his performance, including the disappointment he felt from some of the people who had pledged to support it.

Dr. Kweku Oteng, according to Sonnie Badu, had promised to support his concert but had not returned his calls.

“A lot of sponsors let me down, even Dr Kweku Oteng was not picking up my phone calls, he promised to sponsor, he promised to be a part of it but he didn’t pick up my phone calls. He disappointed me.

“I have honoured Dr Kweku Oteng more than any other person in Ghana, I even honoured him at the city capital in Georgia. He told me he would support but he let me down,” he said.

The “Rhythms of Africa” concert by Sonnie Badu was held on December 9, 2023, at the Grand Arena in the Accra International Conference Centre.

Performers including Kofi Peprah, Nacee, Perez Music, MOG, Piesie Esther, and many more gave performances at the event.
